CHOOSE THE WORK YOU NEED
Tell us what stopped working and what it affects.
A fault can appear in one device while its cause sits elsewhere. We start with the symptom, the affected people and any recent changes, then agree the investigation needed. Support should make the next step clear, whether that means a setting, repair, replacement or a wider review.
THE WORK, MADE CLEAR
Focused investigation
Review computer, software, network or electronic-system symptoms against the equipment and connections involved.
Agreed corrective work
Explain the proposed action and any parts, licences, access or interruption needed before proceeding.
A useful service record
Keep the reported issue, completed work and follow-up recommendations understandable for the next conversation.
A CLEAR SEQUENCE
What happens from here.
Choose a step to see what it involves.
Report the symptom
Describe what changed, who is affected, when the issue appears and any error message shown.
Investigate the cause
Review the agreed devices and connections, using the available access and records to narrow the problem.
Agree the action
Discuss findings and the proposed correction, including any replacement item, licence or additional work requiring approval.
Check and record
Repeat the affected task, record the result and identify any remaining issue or preventive work to consider.
Where are you starting?
Choose the situation closest to yours. The details help us plan the right next step.
Start with the device and its connections
A computer that cannot open a file needs a clear description of what happens and whether other users can complete the same task. Share useful evidence before changing settings.
- Exact symptom or error message
- Affected device and other users
- Recent changes and when it last worked
Look beyond the temporary fix
Keep a short history of recurring interruptions. Their timing and affected areas can help define the next investigation and whether the surrounding installation needs review.
- Frequency and affected areas
- Previous work and replacement history
- Conditions when the fault appears
Agree what will be checked
Set out the devices, routine tasks and work windows. Distinguish inspection and preventive work from fault repair, replacement parts and larger changes to the installation.
- Covered systems and equipment register
- Scheduled tasks and access arrangements
- Reporting, exclusions and follow-up process
DECISIONS THAT SHAPE THE WORK
Settle the important questions early.
How urgent is the operational effect?
Tell us which work is blocked and any temporary arrangement already in place. Contact and response arrangements depend on the service agreed; a message alone does not establish an emergency response commitment.
What access is appropriate?
Agree the required on-site or remote access with the authorised contact. Sensitive credentials and private business files should be handled through the agreed process, not included in an initial public enquiry.
What requires a separate approval?
Clarify how replacement equipment, software licences and additional work will be proposed. An investigation can identify a need without making the supply or repair automatically included.
AN AGREED SCOPE
Know what you will receive.
- The reported symptoms, affected systems and agreed diagnostic tasks.
- Approved corrective work and the associated interruption arrangements.
- A functional check against the task that originally failed.
- A service record with findings, work completed and remaining actions.

Questions before you start.
Do you repair computers as well as networks?
Yes, computer diagnostics, repairs and software troubleshooting are within our service areas. Describe the model, symptom and effect so the appropriate assessment can be discussed.
Can you support equipment another company installed?
We can review the request. Equipment condition, manufacturer support, documentation, credentials and any existing service agreement affect what work can be undertaken.
Is a recurring support agreement available?
We can discuss one around the installation. Covered devices, routine tasks, contact route, working arrangements and exclusions need to be agreed in writing.
Continue with the connected work.
